| More Info | For youth this week we are going to see a movie! On Wednesday, June 29 we will meet at Movies 12 (it is very close to Belvedere LRT station if you are busing there). We are meeting at 6pm and pick up time will be 9pm. (the movie starts at 6:40pm). The movie soul surfer is a great one to start the summer- as it is a story about surfing, sharks, overcoming obstacles and having faith. Cost: $3.50 Let us know if you have any questions! JUNE EVENTS!
It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is already here! I hope that you are all hard at working studying for exams! ugg groan.... but you also need to take some time to get rid of stress so that you can focus more when you do study! So in the best interests of your academia, we have planned some very great events for June!

Now that the dog-days of summer are ‘pon us, is anyone feeling like a couch potato, or is just Kevin?
Meet at the church at 7 pm (we are leaving the building by 7:20pm so be on time so you don’t miss the couch trip!) Trust us- you don't want to miss this event!
Friday, June 17 6:00-10;00 pm BBQ
We will meet at our house for a BBQ. Come hungry!. Plan to be outside for some great games and a campfire.

Another opportunity for some more good food! We will head out to Cardiff Park after church for some food, a game of ball, and some fantastic fun. Bring your super-soakers!

MAY EVENTS
It looks like spring is finally here! It is a time of new beginnings: flowers, grass, trees grow again. The dead, brown ground turns green with life. God wants to do that is our lives as well.

Here is a look at what is happening for Genesis Youth Group Events in May:
Friday, May 6. MOVIE NIGHT Come out for some munchies, a good movie, and interesting discussion about it. 7:00-9:30 pm at the church.
Friday, May 16 AMAZING RACE/SERVICE EVENT This will be an action packed evening as we do the "Amazing Race". Come prepared to be outside and wear comfortable shoes! If you have a video camera or a video component on your camera or phone, bring it to the event. Meet at the church at 7:00pm. Pick up time, 9:30 pm.
Friday, May 20 There will be no youth this week due to the long weekend.
Saturday, May 28 GARAGE SALE! Some of the youth will be at YC this weekend, and others will be hanging out at the community garage sale at the church on Saturday. More details will be coming about this event.

AMAZING APRIL!
AMAZING APRIL
April is one of those rare months where we have five Fridays! That means five youth nights in April! (Well, I guess one of those Fridays is Good Friday, so we will have youth on Thursday that week- but still we have five youth events in April). That is not the only reason that April is so amazing. It is also amazing because we celebrate Easter which remembers God's very radical act of love for us! Through Jesus, God shows us incredible, amazing love! Now that is something to bring us joy (even when there still is snow on the ground in April.)

Thursday, April 21 Dessert, Missionaries, Movies, and Sleep over...
Due to Easter we will be meeting on Thursday this week. We will be joining the rest of the church for a dessert night (yum, dessert...) and hear from some real live missionaries. Then we will go and have our own youth adventures and watch a movie. To fit all this excitement into one evening we will be sleeping over at the church. The next morning we will have breakfast together and then join in with the Good Friday service before heading home to get some sleep.
Friday, April 29 Galaxyland Event. We are going to ride the thrills at Galaxyland! Cost: $10.00. See Kevin or Heather to buy your ticket.

March Madness!
Kevin loves March because it is the time of March Madness which is when the USA college basketball teams have their playoffs. However, we love March for other reasons, such as some great upcoming youth events.
Wednesday March 2, 2011 7:00-9:30 pm.
Skating (weather permitting). We hope to go skating and sliding around on the ice at YMCA. Brings skates, boots, and warm clothes. If it is too cold we will have some other great (and warm) games to play inside! Find out what this picture on the right has to do with us!

SUMO NIGHT
This is the HUGE event we have all been waiting for! Students from Mount Carmel are coming to do this GINORMOUS event for us. Some other youth groups will also be joining us, so it will be BIG in many ways. This is a great event to invite your friends to come.

We will get up to some crazy Irish shenanigans tonight. Don't forget to wear GREEN!

This event is still a secret (or in other words, we haven't planned it yet, but rest assured it will be a great finish to our March Madness).
